Registering to Vote in MA with a Student ID

To register to vote using your Tufts student ID:

• Start on the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website

• Click “Register or Pre-Register to Vote”

  • Answer the prompts accordingly until you reach the question “Do you have an ID issued by the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles?”

  • Answer NO

• Confirm that you do not have a Massachusetts ID and follow prompts to fill out the Mail In Application

  • You will need to provide the last four digits of your Social Security Number

  • Use your Tufts address (dorm or off-campus) as your “Address Where You Live Now”

• Mail In your application or drop it off at City Hall!

  • Medford City Hall: 85 George P. Hasset Drive

  • Somerville City Hall: 93 Highland Ave

** Remember to bring your Tufts ID to the polls to serve as proof of residence!
